[V Day] Gudetama Cafe & Picnic Under the Stars by CHIJMES

So I was really blessed enough to win myself a kawaii 4-course Valentine's Day lunch set meal at the Gudetama Cafe and a romantic movie-picnic dinner by CHIJMES on 12 Feb, 2 days before the actual Valentines Day via their Instagram contest!

I always had a thing for character cafes and I have always wanted to visit the Gudetama cafe but I wasn't willing to pay for the overpriced food.

Anyway there was a really long queue throughout my entire dining experience, so be prepared to wait. I queued for almost 40 minutes, and when I reached the counter I was told that I didn't actually have to queue because they have already reserved a seat for the winners!

This was the set meal that I won. It's only available from 12-14 Feb 2017 for Valentine's Day.

Appetizer - Truffle mushroom soup in a bread bowl with a pair of poached eggs.

Mains - (choose any 2/3) Smoked salmon Egg Benedict / Mixed Grill / Lobster with Brazilian Rice

Drinks - Strawberry and watermelon sparkling juice + Yuzu and blue coral sparkling juice

Dessert - Vanilla softserve on buttermilk waffles

Super cute egg tray table for big groups!

I do not recommend coming here with an empty stomach as we waited for an hour just for the appetizer to be served!! and another additional 15 minutes for the main course!

Appetizer - "LOVE" Mushroom Truffle Onsen. I really enjoyed the poached eggs!

And the two Main Course that we chose - "Comfy" Valentine Mixed Grill and Lobster in Love Thermidor. It was really filling because the lobster was meant for 2pax. And we didn't really enjoy the lobster as it was really cold and mushy ><!

And lastly the dessert! Vanilla soft serve with buttermilk waffles = best combination! The gudetama mold is actually made of chocolate! How cute ^.^ !!

We spent a total of 3 hours queuing and dining in the cafe and we left with a bloated and happy stomach. Thank you Gudetama Cafe SG for giving us the chance to dine and experience your restaurant :) We really enjoyed the food, although there can be some improvement on the speed of service as there many people complaining about the long wait =(
